Bath Golf Club takes pride in its excellent customer feedback

As a recent new member who has played as a guest over the last few years, I wanted to drop you a quick line to say how fantastic the course is looking and playing.

I think the green staff are doing a fantastic job and the course and greens seems to be getting better every time I play.

The cordoned area around the putting green looks great and starts to make the course more premium when you arrive at the course.

I believe there are plans to improve the practise chipping area which will be great.

I am excited to see how the course develops and improves over the next few years.

Dear Secretary,

I am writing to express my appreciation for the arrangements made by you and your staff for my wife’s surprise birthday party on 11th January: everything was really well organised and we have received numerous comments about the excellent quality of the buffet provided. Many of our guests have stated that it was the best buffet meal they had ever had and Anne & I wish to add our thanks to all your staff.

We would have no hesitation in recommending the club as a venue for functions and wish you a happy and successful 2020.

Firstly - It was great day - Thank you to one and all for all their input - but particularly to Chloe and her team and Maddie and James.  All those present were impressed with the venue, the catering and service.

Even those who found the play a little challenging were impressed by the course - although there were a few comments re the slow play caused by the amount of time looking for balls in the long grass.

Special thanks to the Robinson family, Samantha for organising and ensuring that all was in place before I arrived, Charlotte for selling so many raffle tickets:- I am delighted that the raffle raised £160+ which will be divided  between your chosen charity and a donation to the County Junior Girls, and Andy who gave his whole morning to the starting duties in the pouring rain.

I look forward to Bath GC hosting the Ladies County Championship in 2021, subject to your Board’s approval, and know with such helpful ladies it will also be a success.

Your course like our own and many others has not had ideal conditions this summer in particular for the fairways. However your greens for the time of year were outstanding and a credit to your greens-staff. 

We hope to return in the future to Bath and will definitely visit your lovely club.

Rogers Cup and Centenary Plate Finals Day

The day was a great success with lots of supporters for all competitors and is a format that we intend to replicate in future years.

West of England Harper Salver 2018

Thankyou so much for all the help you gave to make our competition such a success.  I’ve had ‘thankyou' emails from pleased parents for the way it all ran smoothly.

As last year, you have a great team in place with everybody helping each other and making my job easier. Nothing seemed too much trouble so I would like to congratulate you all on your smooth operation.

The Pro on the day was wonderful having to go out several times to check the fog and with the green staff. They had the course in fabulous condition and it was much complimented by the parents (teenage players don’t say much).

Having said that, the winner, Caitlin Whitehead expressed herself well and thanked all the staff, including the catering, for all their hard work allowing the players to concentrate on their golf.

I too, include ALL the staff in my grateful thanks.  Darren was very helpful and provided food quickly which was very important as we had to shorten the lunch time to about 25 minutes after the early fog delay. The Green staff had the course set up well with lost balls in the rough on 13 providing a serious challenge, but we need that to sort out the leaders from the rest.

All in all it was a very successful event and Bath Golf Club performed very well indeed.

Somerset Seniors' County Match

The reason for this note is to thank everyone at Bath Golf Club whose efforts contributed, so splendidly, to a marvellous setting for our last SCL match of the season against Glamorganshire 

I would highlight: 

1. Your management team for their helpfulness and attention to detail prior to the event. Note: on the day, they were confronted by a significant unforeseen problem – which I’ll return to
2. Your greens staff for the excellent condition of the course and the way it was presented – terrific!
3. Your catering staff for providing what was required. The food itself was excellent and was provided with a cheerfulness that was appreciated by all
4. Your members for allowing us the courtesy of tee times that worked perfectly

I know that I speak for all the SGU Seniors when I say just how fortunate (and therefore how appreciative) we are to have so much support for our home matches from the SGU’s affiliated clubs

Hi Nicky Perry,

I played a round with my old sparring partner Simon Calvert Jones a few  weeks ago at the club and felt I should write and congratulate you on the state of the course and the general atmosphere in the club. I played the course regularly in the early 70’s before I went abroad. I have played on the odd occasion since but the course has never been in such great condition.

For the past many years I have played my golf at Valderrama which as you probably know is regularly rated #1 in Europe. I also have my own golf travel company catering to Americans coming to Europe and that takes me to some of the finest courses throughout the US and Europe. I  think I set pretty high standards. My some  in law was also with me that day who is a tournament director with the European golf tour who was also most impressed.

So congratulations!

Thank you very much to the office for all the help you gave to make our Championship such a success. 

Everything you said you would do happened like clockwork, from the club being opened, to the catering staff who were terrific, the preparation of the course, the pin position sheet, the code numbers,etc.etc.

You made my job extremely easy so please thank all the members of staff involved on my behalf as everyone did their job to the highest level.

Many of the competitors said how good the course was and although conditions were very windy, it did not detract from the excellent work that had gone into preparing the greens and "thro’ the green."

A job well done!

Just a quick note to say a big thank you for the way we were looked after on Thursday during your Seniors 4bbb.....our playing "partners" telephoned on the morning to back out and one of your senior members Michael [very sorry do not have the second name] very kindly played with us and marked the card. He was a perfect gentleman all day.

Invictus Golf Trials - April 2017

I wanted to write to say a huge thank you to you and your wonderful team and club members for hosting us for our trials afternoon. The club members made us feel so welcome and were truly outstanding volunteers. I have heard first hand from many of the guys and girls who wanted to pass on their thanks just what a great time everyone had (I am just sorry I could not join you all!).

Just a really quick line to thank and inform you about our visit to your golf club on Saturday afternoon. We were all impressed firstly with the honesty and your policy of reducing the fees because the greens were being treated. Also it was a nice touch when a gentleman introduced himself in the bar (I think as the Chairman ) and wished us a pleasant round and hoped we would enjoy our experience.

We certainly did, from the food to the course, although unfortunately we did not do it justice.

Just to say a BIG "Thank you", for the great team effort which went into making last night such a good event.

Fiona, many thanks for all the background stuff you did to make sure we had a poster and tickets , printed menus and individual choices and name cards ...some people tried to work out the language of your novelty sheets but all we deduced on our table was that Stan can read (at least in English)... is much appreciated.

Gemma & Stuart, you did sterling work with your team working hard to ensure everybody had a fine meal, the starters were excellent and having the Antipasto meant we could all start at the same time... a logistical nightmare trying to get 100 starters to individuals ! The main course was much enjoyed and the choice of desserts just right...everybody was happy. Hannah, Emma and Charlie were very efficient and jolly, and the boys in the kitchen got it all out to us in good time. Thank you for joining in the sing song!

Fidelius Golf Day - Wednesday 9th October 2013

I just wanted to say a quick “Thank you” for an absolutely fantastic day at Bath Golf Club yesterday. Not only did the course look great and play perfectly (good work Anthony and your team) but the organisation, provisions and general hospitality provided by you all was second to none. It was great to learn more about Fidelius and hear of the success that you’ve had, in addition to have had the opportunity to support such a fantastic charity. Despite leaving empty handed (wretched count-back system) I couldn’t have enjoyed the day more, so thank you all once again for working so hard to lay it all on. I very much look forward to seeing you all again in the future.

As a former Club Captain (twice) and now a Competitions Secretary I have organised many golfing events, competitions and Golf Days and I have to say, I thought the Fidelius Golf Day at Bath Golf Club was flawless. It is probably conceited of me but I pride myself on the Goughs Golf Day being one of the best Golf Days around but I came away from a brilliant day at Sham thinking I could learn a bit from yours. The meal was probably as good as I’ve had at any Golf Day!

Despite it being very wet for anyone playing in the afternoon everyone said they thoroughly enjoyed themselves on a well organised day. Since becoming a sponsor, we have enjoyed many benefits from being associated with the Club - tee-box signage and participation in a superb sponsor's day event (entertainment, lunch and a golf golf tournament on the day). Also, we have held Board Meetings on site, enjoyed access to the membership as well as played regular golf, all as part of the package. The facilities and course are excellent. Several of our directors and staff have since joined the Club.

We are looking forward very much to our own Annual Golf Day later in the year when we will invite staff, clients and other guests to what will I am sure be a great day out.
